After two years of waiting, the most important global telecommunications event MWC returns to Barcelona.

Telefonica Spain integrated the Dragon into the epicenter of its splendid stand. The Objective: to physically and visually represent the most abstract, avant-garde, revolutionary concepts where 5G technology is integrated**. Such as IoT, AI,** and the  Metaverse.

Introducing Dragon experience as a visualizer of the newest concepts in technology.

The installation has been architecturally merged into the original stand design of almost 1000m2. Using the curve as a key element in its design, The Dragon was designed, built, and integrated as a blending three-dimensional element in one continuous curve, having a strong and imposing presence in the frontal part of the stand.

22 modules and 132,000 voxels were allocated to this installation. integrated within a megastructure with a curved LED screen on the top.

Curved Display integration

Through a system designed in TouchDesigner, the upper curved screen has been integrated with the Dragon. Mapping module by module and creating permanent synchronicity of content and interaction between the two elements.

Human interactivity

The integration of a Kinect motion detection system made it possible to locate an individual by detecting their distance range. During the interaction, different scenes were created in which the protagonist transformed the volumetric content with the movement of the body. All programming was done in Unity.

TouchScreen

A wireless TouchScreen Tablet has been used as the central control of the experience. The user could select the activity mode by going from interactive mode to storytelling and browsing between 25 content options. The integration was set up in TouchDesigner.

This was an interactive Dragon experience that stemmed from the idea of creating an environment that enhances the new Telefónica brand while connecting with the audience in an innovative way. Visitors were prompted to connect, control, and intuitively interact with The Dragon in which audiovisual storytelling and narrative scenarios created a one-of-a-kind tour.

Spectators were able to appreciate the different volumetric expressions of abstract and intangible concepts chosen by the brand (IoT, AI, 5G, etc). Surrounding synchronized elements, such as the curved screen, intensified the feeling of immersion.

The Telefónica logo, made up of 5 spheres, was the inspiration and epicenter of the interactive experience.
